A sparkling comedy drama set in a World War II British Army Searchlight Squad who are a rag-tag bunch of misfits who pull together in the country s hour of need under the direction of Lt Ogelby (Ian Carmichael). Although the cast is littered with comedians, the tone and setting of the movie is comic but moving in its portrayal of ordinary British men thrown together in extraordinary times.
